Limited Hours Darshan

Austin Hindu Temple is happy to announce opening of the Temple during covid-19 times with the below guidelines that all devotees are requested to follow during their visit to the Temple. The Temple is open only on Saturday and Sunday for a limited hours as follows.

normal opening – Saturday and Sunday Only
AM: 10:00 am to 02:00 pm
PM: 05:00 pm to 08:00 pm

1. Before devotees start from their home or place, they are requested to check all CDC guidelines and follow them strictly during their visit to the temple.

    a. Maintain social distance of 6 feet when interacting with others. CDC guidance on Social Distancing.
    b. Practice Preventive Hygiene: CDC guidance on Hand Washing.
        i.   Wash your hands with soap when you arrive.
        ii.  Use hand sanitizer when soap and water handwashing is not possible.
        iii. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, throw it in the trash, and then wash               your hands.
        iv. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

    c. Use Face Covering: CDC guidance on Cloth Face Coverings
        Devotees are requested to bring their own face masks that cover their nose and mouth. Keep it clean.
              Use when:
              1. In-person interactions with others.
              2. moving around the common areas.

2. As soon as you reach AHT campus through the main gate and park in the spots in front of Ganesh Temple or Sai Temple, Please put on your face masks before getting down from the car. Face mask is absolutely required at all times in the campus. No Exceptions.

3. If in any case you don’t have mask, one of the volunteers will provide you for a suggested donation of $3 at the entrance.

4. Volunteers will check with the devotee on a few things before devotee enters the temple the main entrance. These questions will be asked during booking of the appointment too through visiting token form.

    a. Within the last 14 days, have you had any of the following symptoms?
        1. Fever (> 99F)
        2. Cough
        3. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
        4. Chills
        5. Muscle pain
        6. Sore throat
        7. New loss of taste or smell
        8. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Intended answer – No

    b. Any of your family members living with you have above symptoms in the last 14 days? – Intended answer – No
    c. Are you currently caring for a family member, who has COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19? – Intended answer – No
    d. Within the last 14 days, have you had close contact (less than 6 feet for more than 10 minutes) with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19? – Intended answer – No
    e. Have you traveled outside of Texas within the last 14 days? Intended Answer – No
    The answer to these questions have to be “No”. Answers are accepted in “Good Faith” from the devotee. If the answer is different than “No”, then devotee is asked to leave the campus immediately. No Exceptions.

When taking appointment through the online form, if one of the answers is “Yes” to the above questions, the system does not allow devotee to submit an appointment request.

5. Volunteer will check the temperature by using no touch thermometer at the entrance of Ganesh temple. If temperature is above normal reading > 99F, devotee is asked to leave the campus immediately. No Exceptions.

6. Maintain Social distance of 6 feet during all times in the campus. There are markings in the temple where you can stand and proceed.

7. Devotees are provided with sanitizer to clean the hands or they should wash hands with soap and water for 1 minute.

8. Wearing gloves during the visit is preferred. Please bring your own pair of gloves.

9. Bringing homemade prasadam, fruits, flowers or any pooja material to the temple is strictly prohibited.

10. Do not touch any vigrahas in the temple during the stay. No Touch policy is enforced all times in the campus.

11. Kumkum, Chandan, Turmeric are not available in the temple.

12. No Archana services and other services are provided during the visit. All services are online services at this point.

13. No Theertha Prasadam and/or Shatari are provided during this visit.

14. Please do not prostrate on any floor in the campus.

15. A family of upto 6 members living together in one home can take one appointment. All members of this family can be together while taking darshan inside the temple.

16. Please do not sit in the campus. Leave as soon as darshan is done in all sannidhis.

17. Appointment time starts when you enter Sri Ganesha Sannidhi. Please be on time for the appointment.

18. Please follow the instructions below and visit the temples in this order:
    a. Ganesh Temple
    b. Navagraha Temple
    c. Main Temple
    d. Sai Temple

19. Ganesh Temple – Please follow these steps.
    a. Enter the Ganesh temple through the east side door while walking through the steps from the parking lot.
    b. See the markings and dividers that take you inside the temple. There are markings with 6 ft difference from outside the entrance. Please stay on the markings until the person in front proceeds forward and keep moving to the next marking.
    c. Ganesh Temple Garbhalaya Darshan is open during the time mentioned.Wwalk through the path; Have darshan and go out through the south door to exit out of the Ganesh temple.
    d. The entrance and exit doors will be open all the time . Please avoid touching doors and knobs.

20. Navagraha Temple – Please follow these steps.
    a. Enter the temple from North Entrance. Take darshan and exit out of the east entrance.
    b. Please don’t stay inside the temple for long time since there are other people waiting outside to have darshan.
    c. Exit out of east entrance and take right to go around through south wall and continue to walk towards main temple entrance.

21. Main Temple – Please follow these steps.
    a. Go through the Raja Gopuram East entrance.
    b. Enter through the middle door to enter the main temple.
    c. Take darshan starting from Bhairavar, Sri Durga, Sri Kanyaka Parameshwari, Sri Saraswati, Sri Venkateshwara, Sri Rajarajeshwari, Sri Viswanatha, Sri Prasanna Ganapathi, Sri Parvathi, Sri Subramanya, Sri Lakshmi, Sri Andal, Sri Rama Parivar, Sri Jagannatha, Sri Krishna, and Sri Narasimhar.
    d. All markings including 6ft distance are there to have social distancing. Please follow the markings.
    e. After Sri Narasimhar Darshan, please exit out of Sri Venkateshwara door.
    f. Visit Hanuman and Bana lingam and exit through the Raja Gopuram.
    g. Take a right after the exit at Raja Gopuram to go to Sai mandir.

22. Sri Sai Mandir – Please follow the steps.
    a. Enter from the east door entrance. Follow markings.
    b. Have darshan of Sri Sai Baba and take the North door to exit the mandir.
